Wildwood Devon

Sidmouth & Ottery St Mary
Wildwood Devon is one of Devon’s best wildlife parks. Set in 45 acres of stunning parkland featuring threatened and locally extinct native species such as the iconic red squirrel.

As you stroll through the tranquil woodland, you can get up close to an array of unusual animals here including bears, wolves, lynx, arctic foxes, otters and birds of prey - each living in enclosures built to mimic their natural environments. Our red squirrel walkthrough habitat is one of only a few in the country that allows you to see them up close in their natural habitat. You may also spot a wallaby or two on a stroll around the wetlands.

Wildwood Devon is a family attraction, with plenty of activities to get stuck into, from solving our winding beech hedge maze to exploring our indoor soft play. There’s even an authentic Saxon village where you can try your hand at metallurgy and wood carving. Throughout the day, our keepers will give talks on the beautiful animals that call Wildwood Devon their home, giving people the chance to see them feeding. After a day of fun, visitors can round off their day in our magnificent Coach House cafe. With its spacious courtyard, The Coach House Cafe is the ideal spot whether you want a hearty lunch or a sit down with tea and delicious homemade cake. Our menu is full of delicious food to suit all dietary requirements.

As one of the leading British animal conservation charities in the UK, Wildwood Trust is dedicated to saving Britain’s most threatened wildlife. Wildwood Trust have taken part in many ground-breaking conservation programmes to date, which include, saving the water vole, using wild horses to help restore precious nature reserves, bringing the extinct European beaver back to Britain and returning the hazel dormouse & red squirrel to areas where they have been made extinct.
