West Somerset Rural Life Museum

The Museum building was the village school from 1821 - 1981 and is leased from the National Trust. It currently houses a large collection of objects depicting local rural ,industrial and domestic life from the past. There is a Victorian schoolroom with original furniture and school items and games. Visits from children are welcome and role play encouraged. The museum possesses a large photographic archive of West Somerset villages and towns.

There are outside buildings containing numerous exhibits, as well as an attractive garden with some seating. The museum has a small shop and second hand books for sale.

Free car parking is available close by and next to the museum is a working forge . The village PO sells teas and coffees which are served in the garden.
