Westonbirt Arboretum has roots in Victorian plant collecting and, with trees laid out to be picturesque rather than in any botanical order, Westonbirt is now one of the most mature and extraordinary arboretums found anywhere in the world.

Home to no less than 2,500 plant species from the far corners of the globe and five national tree collections covering 600 acres.

Spring is a special time, when rhododendrons bloom in a wide palette of colours and magnolias unfold special blooms in pinks and white. Look out for carpets of wildflowers in Silk Wood and the vibrant green leaf-burst of trees in spring!

In autumn, the trees ensure a varied and long-lasting display. The Japanese maples renowned for putting on a colour show in Acer Glade in the Old Arboretum and Maple Loop and Rotary Glade in Silk Wood.

Westonbirt is the perfect place for you to escape, relax or have an adventure! Explore the arboretum through a variety of easy walking trails, take a journey up into the canopy on the STIHL Tree Top Walkway and stop by the café for a tasty treat.
